Mr. Bones 2: Back from the Past is set in 1879, and the titular figure is the great, great grandpa of the original film's Mr. Bones.
The plot revolves around Hekule, King of Kuvukiland, who receives a jewel from the dying Kunji Balanadin. The cursed stone possesses Hekule with the spirit of the mischievous Kunji, whom Bones characterizes as a "wild rider."
It is up to Mr. Bones to cure his King and rid the city of Durban of this evil stone by traveling 130 years into the future.
They meet a woman named Reshmi, who gives them critical clues about the gem and helps them restore it to its home in an Indian fishing village.
