Nicky Chen, a young Chinese-American woman, decides to leave college and embark on a life-altering trip to a remote monastery in China as a result of a quarter-life crisis. Nicky uses her martial arts training and Shaolin principles to protect her community and bring criminals to justice when she returns to discover her hometown overrun with crime and corruption, all the while looking for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now after her.
