13-year-old Finney Shaw is a shy but intelligent youngster who gets kidnapped by a vicious murderer and left in a soundproof cellar where he can't really cry out for help. Finney learns he can hear the voices of the killer's past victims as a disconnected phone on the wall starts to ring. And they will stop at nothing to prevent Finney from experiencing what happened to them.
