Conrad Stonebanks, who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney, greets Barney, Christmas, and the rest of the squad. Stonebanks later turned into a nasty armaments dealer that Barney was compelled to kill, or so he believed. Stonebanks, who has previously avoided death, is now determined to bring an end to The Expendables, but Barney has other ideas. Barney thinks that the Expendables squad has to be revitalised, so he hires people who are younger, faster, and more tech-savvy to usher in a new era. The next operation turns into the Expendables' most intimate combat yet, pitting traditional old-school tactics against cutting-edge knowledge.
