74-year-old jaded lizard Leo and his terrarium-mate turtle have spent decades locked in the same Florida classroom. As he finds out he only has a year left to live, he makes plans to leave and see the outside world, but instead he becomes entangled in the issues of his fearful students, including an extremely cruel substitute teacher.
