Peter is attempting to discover his identity and the story behind how he came to be the person he is, much like most teenagers. Together, Peter and Gwen Stacy—his first love interest from high school—are navigating issues of love, commitment, and secrecy. Peter starts an investigation into his parents' disappearance after finding a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father. This investigation takes him all the way to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner. Spider-Man and Connors' side character, The Lizard, are headed for a collision, and Peter will have to make difficult decisions about how to use his abilities and control his destiny in order to save the day.
