Synopsis 

A submarine from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force collides with a U.S. nuclear submarine in the ocean near Japan. The Japanese submarine sinks after the collision. The media cover the story of the submarine and its 76 crew members, including Captain Shiro Kaieda (Takao Osawa), who are reported to have died in the accident.
