Synopsis
Martin Brody, the spouse of Ellen Brody, passed away from a heart attack that occurred as a result of his fear of sharks some years ago. Ellen Brody continues to reside at the island resort town of Amity, and her sons Sean and Michael no longer work there. Sean is currently an Amity constable. When Sean goes to the buoy to untie a log from it one night during the Christmas season, a big white shark attacks and devours him. Michael, who is training to become a marine biologist, travels to Amity with his wife Carla and daughter Thea, who is five years old, after learning about this. Ellen joins Michael, Carla, and Thea to their home in order to spend Christmas away from Amity.
